FEELING SMALL IN MY SKIN
Feeling Small in My Skin…
I know that functionally you and I are fine,
But I feel useless
In my own skin…
I am a glorified babysitter,
Our children go about their lives
and aside from feeding and preparing them for their outings,
they don’t really need me…
I am window dressing…
You come and go
And I wait for you
And everyday goes the same way
You don’t need me
I am here to do the “house” and “children” stuff
Bu no one really needs me
I don’t contribute
Not really…
I feel small in this skin and I need to change that
And I can’t
Not alone anyway…
I don’t see a way out.
I wish someone understood.
I need to feel larger and more valuable than I do.
You say you can’t change how I feel
So you don’t try…
You just sit back in your life
Comfortable
And let me deal with my lacking…
Will you ever understand?
Do you even care?
Or is it easier just to let it be “my problem”?
